Stainless Steel Reliable Counterflow Pellet Cooler
Introduction
It is a key piece of equipment for cooling and dehumidifying the hot and humid pellets feed after granulating.
The temperature of the pellet that has just been suppressed from the Pellet mill is about 60~90 degree Celsius, and the moisture is about 14% ~ 16%. Such pellet feeds are soft, brittle and deteriorated. It must be cooled to reduce the moisture content of finished products to about 10% .When the temperature drops to near room temperature (3~5 degree Celsius), packaging, transportation and safe storage are needed.
When the feed pellets from the feed pellet mill pass through the cooler, they contact with the surrounding air. As long as the atmosphere is not saturated, the water will be taken away from the surface of the pellets. The moisture in the pellets moves to the surface under the action of the capillary, and the moisture is separated from the pellets under the action of evaporation, so that the feed pellets are cooled. At the same time, the heat absorbed by the air heats the air and improves the water capacity of air. The air is continuously drained away by the fan, and the heat and moisture of the feed pellets in the cooler are taken away.
Structure of a counterflow pellet cooler
- Air-lock feeder. It can feed wood pellets evenly, and prevent air or moisture getting into the cooling chamber.
- Outer drum. Serves to gather feed materials and hot air. Equipped with an observation door to facilitate maintenance.
- Cooling tank, where the pellets are distributed evenly and get cooled by the airflow.
- Drive engine. The conterflow pellet cooler is powered by a electric engine, discharge motor and shaker motor.
- Discharge port, where the cooled pellets get expelled and the cold air gets in.
Feature
- The counterflow pellet cooler adopts counter current as the cooling agent. It can avoid the shock cooling when cold air contact with the hot pellets and prevent the pellets from cracking.
- The cooling tank is octagonal. There is no dead angels in the tank.
- The discharge port adopts slide valve reciprocating design. It runs steadily with little residues or blocking.
- Adopts air-closed feeder with large inlet air area. High cooling speed and good cooling effect. Low power consumption, easy operation and cleaning.
- The deflector or centrifugal distributor can distribute the pellets evenly in the cooling tank, which improve the cooling speed and effect.
- The air speed in a counterflow pellet cooler is between 0.8 and 1.5m/s. If the cooling time is not enough, the pellets inside will be still moist and sticky. If the cooling time is too long, the pellets will become too dry and easy to crack.
